MetroCOG hosts several advisory committees and commissions that provide advice, leadership and solutions in the planning process.

Notice to regional council of governments of proposed zone or zone use change

Currently there are several active committees, including:

Conservation Technical Advisory Committee (CTAC)

Coordinates, administers and undertakes planning activities to address critical environmental and conservation issues, concerns and problems facing the region’s member communities.

Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee (EDTAC)

The Economic Development and Tourism Committee evaluates the links between the regional economy and the transportation and transit infrastructure that will support investments to increase economic growth in urban and town centers and major employment corridors. The Committee also coordinates and administers economic development initiatives related to land use, freight, and transportation planning. Through the Brownfields Working Group, the Committee aligns local economic development and brownfields reuse strategies in transportation infrastructure projects.

Geospatial Technical Advisory Committee (GTAC)

Coordinates, administers and undertakes activities in the development, maintenance and expansion of regional geospatial activities.

Regional Planning Commission

The Council of Governments serves as the RPC, which is responsible for carrying out the planning duties described in C.G.S §8-3b.

Transportation Technical Advisory Committee (TTAC)

Reviews transportation projects and provides input into the development of transportation plans and programs.
